Adserr provides skin clinic marketing for dermatology clinics, aesthetic and cosmetology centres, and hair transplant clinics in Kochi and across Kerala. This is the most crowded corner of healthcare advertising: salons, beauty brands, influencers and medical clinics all bid for the same searches, and before-after images, once the category's favourite content, are restricted by Meta and Google in ads and, for doctors' promotion, barred by the NMC's October 2026 guidelines (clause 8.1(v)). We help dermatologist-led clinics stand out through qualified care, honest education and genuine reviews, and we keep claims and images on the right side of the rules.

How skin and hair patients search and decide

Medical dermatology. Acne, eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections (very common in Kerala's humid monsoon months), hair fall and pigmentation. Patients search "skin doctor near me", "dermatologist Kochi" or describe the problem in Malayalam, and they choose on proximity, reviews and whether the doctor is a qualified dermatologist.

Aesthetic treatments. Laser hair removal, chemical peels, acne scar treatment, anti-ageing procedures. These patients, often 20 to 45, discover clinics on Instagram and YouTube, follow them for weeks, and compare prices and results before booking a consultation.

Hair transplant. Mostly men aged 25 to 45, highly research-driven and anxious. They watch long videos, read forums, compare graft prices and worry about the clinic's safety record. Many NRIs plan the procedure during home leave.

Brides and events. Wedding season brings planned skin programmes months before the date, often booked by the bride or her family.

Marketing challenges for skin and hair clinics

  • Expensive, crowded ads. Bids for "laser hair removal" or "hair transplant" are high, and many competitors are not even medical practices. Untargeted spending burns budgets quickly.
  • Salons and influencers blur the line. Patients often cannot tell a dermatologist from a beautician offering the same named treatment. Qualifications need to be explained without attacking anyone.
  • Before-after content is off the table for promotion. It was the most persuasive content in the category; platforms now restrict it in ads and the NMC's October 2026 guidelines bar doctors from using it (see below).
  • Price-led competition. "Packages starting at" offers attract bargain hunters and can undermine a medical practice's credibility.
  • Hair transplant safety concerns. News of unsafe procedures by unqualified operators makes patients rightly cautious. Clinics need to show who operates, where and how.

Rules to respect

  • Before-after photos: Meta restricts before-after images for cosmetic procedures in ads, and Google has its own restrictions. For dermatologists and surgeons, the NMC's October 2026 guidelines also bar before-and-after photographs in promotion, except strictly scientific or educational publication with anonymised patient consent (clause 8.1(v)), and consent does not change that (clause 6.2).
  • NMC Guidelines on Ethical Advertising and Public Communication (6 October 2026) for dermatologists and surgeons: no self-promotion, no patient testimonials (Explanation V; consent does not make them acceptable, clause 6.2) and no unverifiable superiority claims (clause 8.1(ix)).
  • Drugs and Magic Remedies Act, 1954: its schedule includes skin conditions such as leucoderma, so "cure" claims for such conditions must be avoided.
  • Consumer Protection Act and ASCI code: "permanent", "guaranteed regrowth" and "no side effects" need substantiation. ASCI guidance also asks health influencers to have relevant qualifications and requires paid partnerships to be disclosed.
  • Fairness claims: avoid content that equates fair skin with beauty or success; it can breach advertising codes and reflects badly on a medical clinic.
  • DPDP Act, 2023 for patient photos, which are personal data, and for follow-up messaging.

This is general guidance; check specific campaigns with your legal adviser.

What works in skin clinic marketing (and hair clinics)

GoalWhat works
Medical dermatology patientsGoogle Business Profile with "Dermatologist" category, condition pages, Malayalam content, steady reviews
Aesthetic consultationsDermatologist-led Instagram reels and YouTube explainers, treatment pages with process and downtime, targeted search ads
Hair transplant casesLong-form surgeon videos, a clear explanation of who performs each step, consultation booking with follow-up
Trust over salonsQualifications shown plainly, "when to see a dermatologist" education, safety protocols explained
Wedding seasonPlanned programmes promoted months ahead, in Malayalam and English

Education beats offers. Videos like "acne scars: what actually helps", "laser hair removal myths" and "how many grafts do I need?" get searched and shared, and they build trust in the clinic's medical care without a single before-after image.

What Adserr does for skin and hair clinics

Frequently asked questions

Can skin clinics use before-after photos in ads?

Meta restricts before-after images for cosmetic procedures in ads, and Google limits them too. Outside ads, the NMC's October 2026 guidelines bar doctors from promotional before-and-after photographs (clause 8.1(v)), and patient consent does not change that (clause 6.2). We usually recommend educational content instead.

How do skin clinics compete with salons offering the same treatments?

Explain plainly who performs your treatments, what medical training they have and how you handle safety and complications. Dermatologist-led education builds a level of trust that a salon cannot match.

How should a hair transplant clinic market itself safely?

Show the surgeon, explain who performs each step, describe the facility and safety measures, and avoid graft-price wars and guaranteed-density claims. Patients researching hair transplants value transparency above discounts.

Can we work with Instagram influencers?

Not for promotion. The NMC's October 2026 guidelines treat influencer-led promotion as advertising (clause 3.2) and say no doctor may use or permit an influencer to promote their services through testimonials, endorsements or recommendations, or use a third party to do indirectly what they cannot do directly (clause 8.1(xi)). Endorsements of your clinic or doctors, paid or unpaid, are therefore out. A disclosed educational collaboration, such as a dermatologist answering questions on a creator's channel without promoting the clinic, needs legal review first.

How much does skin clinic marketing cost?

It depends on how many treatments and branches you promote, which channels you use, how much video and content you want each month, the languages involved and how contested your treatments are; cosmetic procedures also need extra compliance review time. Any ad spend is paid directly to Google or Meta. We send a written scope and quote after the free audit; see how our pricing works.

Which is better for a skin clinic: Google or Instagram?

Both, for different patients. Google captures people with a medical skin problem who want a dermatologist nearby. Instagram and YouTube build demand for aesthetic treatments over weeks. Most clinics need both, with separate budgets.
