Adserr is a hospital marketing agency in Kochi that works only with healthcare. For a multispeciality hospital, that means we plan marketing one department at a time, because a family choosing a maternity unit and a 60-year-old looking for a knee replacement surgeon search, compare and decide in completely different ways. We handle search, Google Maps, advertising, PR, social media and reviews, and every piece is checked against Indian healthcare advertising rules before it goes live.

How patients choose a hospital

Very few people search for "a good hospital". They search for a problem, a procedure or a doctor, and the hospital comes second. The journey usually looks like this:

  • Symptom or diagnosis first. "Chest pain left side", "knee replacement cost Kochi", "best gynaecologist near me". Many of these searches are in Malayalam or Manglish.
  • Doctor next. Once a family hears a name from a relative or a GP, they search that doctor, read reviews and watch any videos they can find.
  • Hospital checks last. Distance, insurance tie-ups, parking, room rates and how the hospital looks on Google Maps decide the final choice.
  • Family and WhatsApp throughout. In Kerala, a decision about surgery is rarely made by one person. Links get forwarded to children in the Gulf, Bengaluru or the UK, who then do their own search.

Emergency, trauma and stroke care are the exception. There the decision takes minutes, and the hospital that shows up first on Maps with a working phone number and clear directions wins.

The marketing challenges a multispeciality hospital faces

Too many departments, one brand. A hospital with 30 specialties cannot push all of them equally. Budget and attention need to go where there is genuine patient demand and consultants available to meet it.

Doctor-led reputations. Patients often follow a consultant, not a hospital. Hospitals can keep accurate, factual profiles of every consultant, but the NMC's October 2026 guidelines bar "promotional portrayal of an individual RMP" (clause 8.3(ii)), so the brand has to rest on departments, facilities and teams. That also keeps the hospital steady if a doctor leaves.

Competing hospitals nearby. In Kochi, several hospitals sit within a few kilometres of each other. The difference on Google often comes down to department pages, reviews and how well each Google Business Profile is kept.

Measuring what worked. A call from an ad, a walk-in after a YouTube video, a referral from a GP: most hospitals cannot tell these apart. Without tracking, budgets get set by habit.

Rules a hospital's marketing must follow

Hospital advertising in India is governed by several laws at once, and we treat them as a checklist rather than an afterthought:

  • Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954: no advertising that claims to cure the conditions listed in its schedule.
  • NMC advertising guidelines (October 2026): limit what hospitals and doctors can claim, including superiority claims, inducements, testimonials and promotional portrayal of individual doctors.
  • Consumer Protection Act and the ASCI code: claims must be truthful and substantiated, and "best" or "No. 1" claims also need an objectively verifiable, independent basis under the NMC's guidelines (clause 8.1(ix)).
  • PCPNDT Act: no reference to sex determination, which matters for any obstetrics or imaging content.
  • DPDP Act, 2023 and platform rules: WhatsApp and email messages to patients need their consent, and the DPDP Rules 2025 are phasing in the Act's main consent duties. Google does not allow remarketing or Customer Match lists for health-related ads.

This is our working practice, not legal advice. For anything borderline, we flag it and ask you to check with your legal adviser.

What Adserr does for hospitals

We start with a department review: which specialties patients nearby are searching for, which have consultants available to see more patients, and which are losing patients to nearby competitors. Then we build a plan around three to five priority departments and grow from there.

  • Search and Maps. Department and doctor pages, local SEO and profile management through our hospital SEO services and Google Business Profile management.
  • Paid campaigns. Compliant Google and Meta campaigns tracked to calls and appointments through our healthcare advertising team.
  • Media and reputation. Launches, new equipment, health awareness days and crisis support through healthcare PR, plus review requests and reply handling.
  • Content in three languages. Malayalam for local patients, English for the city and Arabic for GCC referrals, with medical tourism marketing where the hospital is ready for international patients.
  • Doctor profiles. Accurate directory profiles with registration details, and educational videos, for your consultants through doctor branding.

Every month you get a report that shows calls, forms, WhatsApp chats and appointments by department, not just clicks and likes. The full picture is on our hospital digital marketing page.

Why choose a healthcare-only hospital marketing agency in Kochi

General agencies can run ads. What they usually lack is a feel for consent, NMC limits, how a cardiac patient's family behaves, and why a review reply must never confirm that someone was a patient. Our office is opposite Aster Medcity in Kochi's hospital belt, so meeting your medical director or marketing team in person is easy. Frequently asked questions

What does a hospital marketing agency do?

It plans marketing department by department for a multispeciality hospital, covering search, Maps, advertising, PR and reviews for each department. It also reports each department's calls, WhatsApp chats and appointments separately, so spending is tied to patients rather than traffic.

How is hospital marketing different from clinic marketing?

A clinic usually has one or two services and a small catchment, so local Maps visibility does most of the work. A hospital has many departments, emergency services, insurance questions and a wider catchment, so it needs a plan per department and stronger PR and reputation work.

Can a hospital promote its doctors under NMC rules?

Factually, yes; promotionally, no. Since 6 October 2026 the NMC's guidelines bar hospital communication from "promotional portrayal of an individual RMP" (clause 8.3(ii)), but a website directory of doctors' names, qualifications, specialties, registration details and availability is treated as patient information (clause 9.1). We keep doctor content factual and educational, and recommend checking edge cases with your legal adviser.

Which departments should a hospital market first?

Start with departments that have clear search demand nearby and consultants available to see more patients, often orthopaedics, cardiology, gynaecology or a new specialty. Emergency and OPD visibility on Maps should be fixed alongside, because it affects every department.

How much does hospital marketing cost?

It depends mostly on how many departments and branches you promote, which channels are involved, monthly content volume, the languages you need and how contested your specialties are locally. Any ad spend is paid directly to Google or Meta. We send a written scope and quote after the free audit; see how our pricing works.

How long before hospital marketing shows results?

Paid campaigns can produce calls within weeks. SEO and reputation work build more slowly, usually over several months, and keep paying off after that. We agree on what to measure at the start so you can judge progress honestly.
