Physiotherapy clinic marketing that fills sessions, not just first visits
Physiotherapy patients come from three places: Google Maps, doctors' referrals and word of mouth. We help you win all three and keep patients until their plan is finished.

Adserr offers physiotherapy clinic marketing for independent clinics, sports-rehab centres and home-visit services in Kochi and across Kerala. Filling a physiotherapy diary is usually not about one big campaign. It is strong local visibility for pain searches, steady referrals from orthopaedic surgeons and GPs, and a clinic experience that keeps patients coming until their treatment plan is complete.
How physiotherapy patients find a clinic
- Pain searches. "Back pain physiotherapy near me", "neck pain treatment", "frozen shoulder physio Kochi". The patient wants somewhere close, at a time that fits work.
- Doctor referrals. After a fracture, knee replacement or spine surgery, the surgeon suggests physiotherapy. The patient often searches for the clinic name they were given or for one near home.
- Home visits. Elderly patients, stroke survivors and people recovering from surgery need home physiotherapy. Usually a son or daughter, sometimes working abroad, searches and books on their behalf.
- Sports and fitness. Runners, footballers, gym members and cricketers search for sports injury rehab and often choose on a recommendation from their coach or club.
- Women's health and paediatrics. Antenatal and postnatal physiotherapy, and therapy for children with developmental delays, are growing niches where trust and specialist skills matter most.
Challenges that are specific to physiotherapy
Drop-off after a few sessions. Patients feel a little better and stop coming. That hurts outcomes, reviews and revenue. Marketing that only chases new patients misses the biggest opportunity.
Referral dependence. If one or two surgeons send most of your patients, the clinic is vulnerable. Building your own search and Maps presence spreads the risk.
Home-visit logistics. Home physiotherapy is in demand, but advertising it across a city you cannot cover leads to cancelled bookings. Service areas need to match the routes your team can actually travel.
Looking like every other clinic. Many physiotherapy clinics describe the same machines and the same list of conditions. Your methods, your specialisations and your therapists need to be visible.
Rules and professional limits
- Claims about outcomes: avoid "permanent cure for back pain" or "no surgery needed, guaranteed". These breach the Consumer Protection Act and ASCI code and can mislead patients who actually need a surgeon.
- Professional titles and regulation: physiotherapists fall under the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, 2021. The use of the "Dr" prefix by physiotherapists has been debated by regulators, so check current guidance before using titles in ads.
- Testimonials and videos of patients: physiotherapists are not registered medical practitioners, but a physiotherapy clinic registered as a clinical establishment may still fall under the NMC's October 2026 guidelines. We keep patient testimonials and identifiable patient videos out of the promotion we run, and recommend clinics posting on their own do the same: the guidelines say consent does not by itself make a testimonial or promotional patient story acceptable (clause 6.2), and identifiable patient details should not be shared publicly (clause 7.4).
- DPDP Act, 2023 (its consent duties are being phased in): ask for consent before sending exercise reminders and follow-ups on WhatsApp.
This is general guidance, not legal advice.

What works for physiotherapy clinics
| Source of patients | What to do |
|---|---|
| Google Maps | Correct "Physiotherapist" category, condition-based services, photos of treatment areas, the same neutral review request to every patient |
| Surgeon and GP referrals | Short progress reports to referring doctors (with patient consent), a referral pad and a named contact |
| Home visits | A dedicated page and ads limited to your real service area, with clear pricing structure and booking on WhatsApp |
| Sports clients | Partnerships with clubs, academies and gyms, injury-prevention talks, short exercise videos |
| Existing patients | Session plans shared on day one, reminders, and a check-in call after discharge |
Short videos work especially well: a therapist explaining posture for office workers, a stretch for runners, or what to expect in the first week after knee replacement. They show expertise without making claims.
What Adserr does in physiotherapy clinic marketing
- Sets up and manages your Maps presence through Google Business Profile management, including service areas for home visits.
- Plans and produces exercise and education content for Instagram, Facebook and YouTube through hospital social media, in Malayalam and English.
- Builds a review habit for your front desk and handles replies through reputation management.
- Runs small, local search campaigns for pain and post-surgery terms through healthcare advertising.
- Creates a referral kit for surgeons and GPs (progress reports and contact details, never fees, gifts or commissions, which NMC clause 8.1(vii) bars for doctors), and tracks which channels bring patients.

Frequently asked questions
How can a physiotherapy clinic get more patients?
Make sure you appear on Google Maps for pain and condition searches in your area, ask every patient for a review, and build relationships with nearby orthopaedic surgeons and GPs. Then work on keeping patients until their plan is finished, which often adds more sessions than new marketing does.
Is it worth advertising home physiotherapy?
Yes, if you can serve the area reliably. Limit ads to locations your therapists can reach, make booking easy on WhatsApp, and target the adult children who usually book for elderly parents, including those living abroad.
Can physiotherapists post patient videos on social media?
Not in promotion. A physiotherapy clinic registered as a clinical establishment may fall under the NMC's October 2026 guidelines, which say consent does not by itself make a testimonial or promotional patient story acceptable (clause 6.2) and that identifiable patient details should not be shared publicly (clause 7.4). Therapist-led exercise videos build trust without those risks; check any other use with your legal adviser.
Should a physio clinic use Instagram or Google first?
Google first, because people in pain search and choose quickly from Maps. Instagram and YouTube help with sports clients, prevention content and long-term brand building once the Google basics are working.
How much does physiotherapy clinic marketing cost?
It depends on how many clinics and home-visit areas you promote, which channels you use, how much video and content you want each month and the languages involved. Any ad spend is paid directly to Google or Meta. We send a written scope and quote after the free audit; see how our pricing works.
Do you work with physiotherapy departments inside hospitals?
Yes. Hospital rehab departments benefit from the same approach, combined with the hospital's wider marketing. See our hospital marketing page.
